Terms & Conditions

By booking or using the Rotto Rackets Sports pickleball courts on Rottnest Island, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Use at Your Own Risk

All players and visitors use the courts and surrounding facilities entirely at their own risk.

Rotto Rackets Sports and the Rottnest Island Authority accept no responsibility for any injury, illness, loss or damage arising from the use of the courts, equipment or surrounding facilities, except where required by law.

2. Player Responsibility

Players are responsible for their own safety and must take reasonable care to prevent injury to themselves and others.

Before playing, users should inspect the courts and surrounding areas and refrain from using the facilities if they believe conditions are unsafe.

Players are responsible for ensuring they use the facilities in a safe, respectful and considerate manner.

3. Supervision

The courts operate as a self-service, unsupervised facility.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible person aged 16 years or older at all times.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for the behaviour and safety of children using the facilities.

4. Property & Equipment

Players are responsible for their own personal belongings at all times.

Where paddles or other equipment are hired from Rotto Rackets Sports, customers are responsible for the equipment while it is in their possession and must ensure all hired equipment is returned to the designated vending machine immediately after use.

Rotto Rackets Sports accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings.

5. Paddle Hire & Security Authorisation

Paddles are available to hire from the self-service vending machine located at the courts.

By renting paddles, you authorise a temporary security hold of $120 per paddle compartment rented (two paddles per compartment) on your nominated payment card.

For example:
1 compartment (2 paddles) – $120 temporary security hold

2 compartments (4 paddles) – $240 temporary security hold

3 compartments (6 paddles) – $360 temporary security hold

This security hold is not a charge. It is a temporary pre-authorisation held by your card provider as security while the hired equipment is in your possession.

Provided all hired equipment is returned correctly and in good condition, the security hold will be automatically released.

Depending on your bank or card provider, the pending authorisation may remain visible on your account for several business days after it has been released. The processing timeframe is determined solely by your bank or card provider and is outside the control of Rotto Rackets Sports.

Customers acknowledge that the temporary security hold is disclosed prior to completing a paddle rental transaction, including through our website, booking information and/or vending machine instructions.

If hired equipment is not returned, is returned incomplete, or is returned damaged beyond fair wear and tear, Rotto Rackets Sports reserves the right to charge all or part of the applicable security hold to recover the replacement or repair costs.

6. Respect & Conduct

Players must use the courts respectfully and comply with all Rottnest Island Authority regulations and community standards.

Users must:

Treat other players, visitors and the Rotto Rackets Sports team with courtesy and respect.

Dispose of rubbish responsibly.

Leave the courts clean and tidy.

Return all hired equipment immediately after use.

Ensure the court gate is securely closed when leaving.

Report any damage, faults or maintenance issues to info@rottoracketssports.com.au as soon as reasonably practicable.

Rotto Rackets Sports reserves the right to refuse entry, suspend future bookings or remove access to the facilities where a user behaves in an unsafe, unlawful or inappropriate manner or intentionally damages the courts or equipment.

7. Respect for Our Team

Rotto Rackets Sports is committed to providing a welcoming, enjoyable and safe experience for all customers.

We ask that all interactions with our team—whether in person, by phone, email, text message, WhatsApp, social media or any other communication channel—are conducted respectfully and courteously.

Abusive, aggressive, threatening, intimidating, discriminatory, harassing or otherwise unacceptable behaviour towards our staff, contractors or volunteers will not be tolerated.

Where such behaviour occurs, Rotto Rackets Sports reserves the right to:

Refuse service;

Cancel or suspend current or future bookings;

Restrict access to our facilities;

Cease communication except where reasonably necessary to resolve an existing booking or where otherwise required by law; and/or

Take any other reasonable action considered necessary to protect the safety and wellbeing of our team.

We are committed to assisting customers promptly, professionally and fairly, and we ask that the same courtesy and respect be extended to our team.

8. Acceptance of Terms

By proceeding with your booking, renting equipment or using the Rotto Rackets Sports facilities, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms & Conditions form part of every court booking and equipment rental made through Rotto Rackets Sports.
